Diodoros is the result of a shared project between the Archaeological and Landscape Park of the Valley of the Temples
and the Frenda Farm, with the common goal of enhancing and recovering the historic pistachio groves of the Valley
of the Temples, which constitute a natural asset of exceptional value. These pistachios, express and
enhance the best Sicilian gastronomy and the high historical value of the area.

The Diodoros project was born from the cooperation between public and private Partners to enhance the
artistic, cultural, landscape and agricultural heritage of the 1300 hectares of the Archaeological and Landscape Park of
Valley of the Temples. The enhancement of the species of olive trees, pistachios, almonds and other traditional varieties of
fruit is translated into research and technological innovation interventions and the marketing of
agricultural productions of the Park, registered in 2005 under the Diodoros trademark. This trademark is a tribute to
Diodorus Siculus, a Greek historian from Agyrion (modern-day Agira in Sicily), author of the Bibliotheca Historica,
a work of universal history.

Availing itself of the collaboration of local companies of the highest quality, the park has revived
traditional products of the highest quality and has aroused strong involvement in the media and the
local population for the rediscovery of traditional production methods, a vehicle for culture and
awareness of their origins. A shared horizon that has given rise to a project of great
symbolic value, a good example of the preservation and environmental sustainability of a landscape immersed
in a unique and valuable context.
